Hardware Wallets

Hardware wallets are devices that will create keys for you (for spending and receiving digital assets) and whenever you want to spend something, they will sign your transaction with the corresponding spending key so you can execute the spending. Their real value comes from the fact that everything happens inside a secure environment.

In the below list, you will find the most well known or upcoming and promising hardware wallets. Before choosing one, you should give priority to devices with EAL certification since that alone means that the device have been tested for security holes. Communication method is also important since having a completely air gapped device that can only communicate using QR Codes will give an extra piece of mind.

Keep in mind that not all wallets are user friendly, there are different devices for different expertise levels, and of course not all wallets offer the same level of protection. Don’t forget to make your own research before deciding to press the “buy now” button. Also be very careful of Opolo Hardware Wallet since it seems to be a scam project.

Opolo6+Desktop App????FISHY / PROBABLY SCAM PROJECT. There is no video proof of the device in action except some setup videos with the worst UI ever like it was made in 5 minutes just for the video purposes. PC application has no company signature (SmartScreen flagged it) and it has 10 menus which looks good till you realise that whichever menu you try to visit, there’s nothing to see except a reminder to “buy the hardware wallet”. Opolo recently added the option to pay upfront 1$ to reserve a wallet in half price which is to say the least, extremely funny!!! Avoid at all costs till there are actual reviews that fully show it in action.
EDIT: This is a 100% scam project. They recently changed their page and added support of… every available coin ever! What a great way to scam people.
